Travelling Sparky:
In 2016, the Travelling Sparky Bag was first introduced where Manitoba Fire Departments could request a "Travelling Sparky" bag to take to schools, use the education material in the bag to teach about fire and life safety, and then each student gets to take the bag home, which has a stuffed Sparky, and do their Home Fire Escape Plan with their family, plays the games, watch videos and have fun learning!
Many Fire Departmnets have made their own bags, and below is a list of the material and where to find it:

Presentation for Educators:
The Getting to Know Fire Presentations have been recently revised, and are a great resource for preschool age kids, all the way to adults.
Fire Safety PowerPoint Grade K-4 (English) (French)
Using the NFPA’s “Getting to Know Fire” curriculum, Power Points have been developed to use for presentations in schools. The first is for K-4 (can also be used for Pre-school). It is approximately 30 minutes and includes an 11 minute video and a 5 minute video and song. There are activities and song lyrics to use but both are optional. Kids love them because they are current, exciting and they get the kids INVOLVED!
Fire Safety PowerPoint Grade 5-8 (English) (French)
The second Power Point is for Grades 5-8. This is also about 30 minutes with handouts to use but they are optional. Fire Departments can set up a time to visit one class or request an assembly and involve more kids. The Power Points can be used by anyone.
Timings for the presentations can vary depending on questions from the students.
