Introduction to K-9 Search and Rescue

Prerequisite: None
Course Description: A one day introductory K-9 workshop and dog evaluation for those wanting to gain knowledge in K-9 Search and Rescue. During the workshop students will learn the realities of K-9 search and rescue and how they can get involved within Manitoba. Dog evaluations are also conducted for students who already have a dog that may have potential as a search and rescue canine.

Volunteer network in Manitoba

Introduction to tracking
Scent
K-9 Psychology
Documentation
The workshop consists of a ½ day of classroom instruction and a ½ day of canine evaluations and hands on instruction.
Materials: None, potential dogs are welcome
Cost: $75.00 (certified cheque or money order payable to the Minister of Finance)
