Upcoming Examination Schedules for Gas Fitter & Oil Burner, Limited Electrical Trade and Power Engineers

Application Requirements

Examination seating is limited and eligibility for preferred dates is on a first come, first served basis.

Once confirmation of an exam sitting has been issued:

  • You may request to reschedule your exam date once.
    • a written request must be made at least 5 working days prior to the exam date.
    • the fee will be forfeited if a request is made late or verbally. a voice mail request is not adequate and therefore will not be considered.
    • a second attempt to reschedule an exam date will not be considered. the fee will be forfeited.
  • You may request to withdraw your application for an examination in writing only. A refund will not be issued if the applicant's exam date was previously rescheduled.
    • a refund will be issued only when a written request has been made at least 5 working days prior to the scheduled exam date.
  • There will be no refund issued when an applicant fails to appear for an examination for which they have been confirmed.

Written requests may come in the form of an email to firecomm@gov.mb.ca. Providing proper details (example - name, exam type, original date, reschedule date, address change). DO NOT leave a request to reshedule by voice mail.

Incomplete Applications

An application is considered incomplete when:

  • The application form itself is incomplete.
    • If fee has been processed you will receive a refund and will be required to reapply.
  • The applicant does not meet applicable prerequisites,
    • If fee has been processed you will receive a refund and will be required to reapply.
  • The applicant’s fee has not been processed within a minimum of 20 working days prior to scheduled examination date.
    • If the application is complete and the applicant meets the applicable prerequisites but payment was processed AFTER the minimum 20 working days, you may be scheduled your second date choice or next available sitting.  A refund will not be automatically issued.  You will receive confirmation of exam sitting.  You may then refer to “Request to Reschedule or Request to Cancel/Refund” if you are not satisfied with the confirmed time and date.

Dates may change or new examination dates may be added.  Specific exam locations will be supplied with written confirmation.  Do not assume you have been scheduled unless you have received written confirmation. Proof of further education and/or hours logged under a licensed employer must accompany an application for a re-write at the 4th and 7th attempts, for exams in each program area.
